C: Well, first what I do is write what is going on or what the situation is.
C: And then I will add "because" at the end. So, it'll be, "A man is back in class today because 何々."

★ 彼女のノートを彼にメールする
K: 彼女のノートは her notes でしょうか?
J: Yes, always plural. Uh-huh.
K: これは、email her notes がいですか? mail her notes はどうですか?
J: Um... you could say "mail," but you have to be careful because people might think that you're actually putting the notes in an actual envelope and mailing them by post.
J: So "email" is the best.
K: どんな順番がいいでしょうか?
J: There's two ways you can do it.
K: OK.
J: "Email 何々 to 誰々."
K: OK.
J: So, "email her notes to him."
K: OK.
J: Or you can do it the other way around "email 誰々 何々," which would be "email him her notes."

K: decide to でどうでしょう?
C: It's not wrong, but I think in this situation, it sounds a little strong, doesn't it or a little serious?
K: Yeah, I put some drama in my life.
C: Yeah, yeah. So, it could work but here, I think I'd recommend um... keeping it simple and just write "be going to 何々."

M: Is that the "I think, therefor I am" guy?

W: Right. I have several of his essays here to read.
M: You are so organized!
W: Well, my problem is I think too much, therefor I don't have a hobby.
M: Join the club.
W: But, doesn't seem like a fun club to join.
M: No.

C: Wow! That's very formal sounding and kind of …
K: Ain’t I great?

(ain’t = am not の縮約形)

C: Yeah, you sound very loyal.
K: Okay. I need a crown.
C: I think we can use the phrasal verb "give in" here. Again, like Jeff, simpler.
K: Give in.
C: Give in.
K: There is another word "give up." What's the difference?
C: Oh, I guess they sound a little similar, don't they?
K: Yeah, they do.
C: Well, they don't share meanings. "Give up" is used when you stop what you are trying to do.
K: What about "give in"?
C: Well, "give in" is used when you finally agree to do something that you don't want to do.

J: A squirrel asks her brother to share some nuts. "Finders keepers" is his answer. So, she says she's telling their mon on him and he gives in.

C: Of course, you did.
J: I believe they did. Yeah.

K: When did these people lose the dog?
C: Oh, I heard three days ago.
J: Yeah, that's when it run away.
C: Yeah.

C: Right.

K: Oh, same in Canada, right. So, this might be some organization.
J: Yeah.
C: Yeah.
K: Just a person wouldn’t have a toll-free number.
J: Right. … use … a regular phone number.
J: Right, exactly. So, it might be the organization or it might be the studio where the messages coming from.
C: Yeah, yeah. You mean that the radio show, right?
J: Right.
C: It could be the radio shows’ contact number.
K: Oh, great.
