C: What would usually be done is that you'd introduce what the subject is first by saying "the dog."

C: And uh, then afterwards we can just replace the word "the dog" with the pronoun "it." For example, "Matt lets the dog in and it tracks in mud."

J: In English, we wouldn't say "the house's dog."
K: OK.
J: It's a family dog, so we're just going to use the word "their," t-h-e-i-r, "their dog."

J: And this is the word that we use when two different things are going on. When one person is doing something, someone else's doing something else. In this particular case, Mat and Sally are doing two different things. So, he... talking about Matt, "He lathers him up and then rinses him off while Sally何々."

C: Well, there are lots of ways to write it. I'd like to recommend two ways that we can do this.
K: OK.
C: The first way is to use the verb "grab," which we saw in the dialog. I think it works well here because she is moving really quickly. So, it's the idea of moving and grabbing it. So, you could write "to grab his towel."
C: But we could also use "get."
K: Okay.
C: But it doesn't have the same sense of urgency.
