J: Uh... the first one would be, "They answered the next question," and then add a colon.
K: OK.
J: And then you just say the question. So they answered the next question. "What are two negative traits about yourself?"
J: Right. Then the other pattern is, "They answered the next question which is ..." And then you say the question.
K: So instead of "colon," you say ...
J: Right. You say "which is."
K: Which is.
J: Uh-huh. And the question would be in quotation marks.

C: It's not wrong. Technically speaking, they did have a fight, right?
K: Yeah.
C: But, to my ears, I think "argument" is the more appropriate word to use here. Um... It describes what's going on a little bit better. When we use the word "fight," it sounds very strong, and that it could almost be something physical happening.
C: So for here, I'd recommend writing "have an argument."

J: There's actually two patterns you can use.
K: Good.
J: The first one is, "Jessica is brutally honest and says that 何々."
J: The other way you can do it is, "Jessica is brutally honest saying that..." And then you just say what she says.

C: Well, there are two ways I'd suggest writing this. The first way we can show that something surprises him.
K: Uh-huh.
C: So, it'll be, "That surprises him."
K: OK.
C: And for the second way, it's simply, "He's surprised."

J: Yes, you CAN use "because," but you don't need to all the time.
K: OK.
J: You can make it two different sentences and have it mean the same thing.
K: OK.
J: For example, you can say "That surprises him. (period) He wasn't aware of that." Or you can say, "He's surprised. (period) He wasn't aware of that."

J: I did.

J: Kanako's Self-Storage Company.
C: Well, it looks like Amelia is looking for somewhere to store her stuff.
J: Yeah, evidently, she is moving.
K: Oh, OK.
J: And she needs someplace to put her things or to store her things. And she is looking for a company that has reasonable rates.
C: Right, that means, so she doesn't want to pay a lot of money, right?
K: All right.
J: And according to the man, Kanako's Self-Storage Company has the best rates in town.
C: Hmm...
K: OK. So that's the place you should go to.

K: OK. So, back to Question 2.
J: Uh-huh. How much do their large storage units start at?
K: Carolyn...
C: Yeah.
K: Did you happen to catch the right answer?
C: I think I did. It's $85 a month.
K: It's not so bad.

C: Yes. I think I can even remember this number.

J: Yeah, I was wondering if the yearly rates are cheaper than the monthly rates.
C: Well, probably are, usually they are, aren't they?
J: Usually you get a certain percentage off if you rent for a longer time, right?
C: I guess you're gonna have to call the number to find out.
C: Well, I was listening to it and it sounds like they are open 24 hours a day.
J: Yeah, 24 hours a day.
C: ... which is very handy.
K: Yeah, it is, isn't it?
