My! I wish they'd replace these rickety chairs.
Ha ha ha! But that's the harm of it.
Ready to order?

Oh, hi there.
Hey!
The same waiter, Jim.
Hi there.
How old might you be?
99
Oh! Good for you!

I'll have uh...
Tow eggs, over easy, with toast.
Oh, my! Great memory, too.

How do you stay so young?

Well, I have a secret, but I make no secret. I keep listenig, keep
practicing and ...
Keep on smiling.

Radio Eikaiwa.

                                                              • -

Is there anything, something that brings back old memories for you?
Yeah, and mine is cut grass.
Cut grass?
Yeah, the smell of cut grass brings back old memories for me, and it brings
back high school track practice.
Track practice, running.
Because... yeah, the grass was always freshly cut and then we had to run,
run, run, run, run. So everytime, I smell cut grass, I think of high school
track practice.
S... smell.
Well, we had a hard practice.

How about you, Jeff?
Well, I have a silver and turquoise ring that I wear on my little finger.
Yeah, you have it right there.
And it remids me of home, because there are a lot of native Americans in the
West and I'm from the West and they wear a lot of silver and turquoise.
Hmmm...
Nice.
And it also reminds me of Karuizawa because that's where I bought it, the
first time I ever went to Karuizawa.
Wow.
I see.
So it reminds me of two places.
Great!

What about you, Ken?
Dragonflies.
Dragonflies?

Dra... whenever I see a drangonfly, it reminds me of my chilldfood.
Wow!
I use to uh... go to this pond with the bunch of friends and uh... use to
chath drangonflies.
Had a lot of dragonflies. That's very intersting.

Oh, no! Can you move Chops out of the way?
Okay, I'll try. Chops, could you just move over a bit?
He rolled over instead. He has a mind of his own.
I'll tempt him with a treat. Here, Chops! Stake! Chowtime!

                                        • -

Excuse me, Chops.
Go ahead, Tim. Make my day.
( Make my day = やれるものならやってみろ)

That was a big one.
Make my day. Wow!

Well, I think dogs are like that too, but cats are more like this, you know.
Cats are more like this.
Yeah.
They have a mind of their own.
Yes, I agree. They are naughty.
Right.
But they are very cute.
Yes.
They are cute. I hope this program doesn't have a mind of its own. I hope it
always serves the uh... listeners.
Yes.
