C: I think it's almost a tricky subject. I would say that because the subject "garakei" is a noun and a Japanese noun. Using an article is optional.
K: Oh, OK.
C: So, I mean, like "a galakei." In some situations, we might want to use "a." But in this situation, I don't think it's necessary.
K: Uh-huh.
C: A kind of compare to like, words like "kimono" and "samurai," right? Sometimes we would use an article, but a lot of times, we don't.
