==========
Write It!
==========
◆ 女性には思い出があります
C: Yeah, so, it's going to be, in English, "have memories."

◆ 幼稚園で
J: Right. In the dialog, it's "when she was in kindergarten." And that's the long way. That's fine, but you can also cut "when she was," and just use "in kindergarten."

◆ ……を作るのに使われています
C: Well, in the dialog, we saw the phrase, "are used for 何々."
K: Uh-huh.
C: Or in other words "be used for 何々."
C: So, here, let's use the first part, "be used" and add "to make."

*********

C: Oh, yeah.
J: Pretty sure they did.
C: Good job, everyone.
K: All right.
J: Well done.
K: If you say so.

Before We Move On!

K: Do you guys use it?
C: Sure!
J: Um... yes, sometimes.
C: I do.
K: You do, Carolyn. You do.
C: Yeah, especially when I see something I really like or I wanna (want to) compliment something...
K: Uh-huh.
C: You know, somebody has done. "Oh! That's sweet, sweet!"
K: Okay.
C: You know... Ah, I also use the word "awesome" a lot too.
C: Yeah. "That's awesome!"

J: I'm kind of old school. So, I use "Cool!" ... most of the time.
J: But I do use "sweet" when I get a sweet deal on a car or sweet deal on something... I got a good price.

(old school 古臭い、メールではなく手書きの手紙を送ったり、コンピューターに疎かったり、最新技術よりも時代遅れのスタイルを大事にしている人のこと)

K: General purpose かなり汎用性のある表現、間投詞に Great! Nice!
J: Naaaaaice!
C: "Great" is a great word to learn, because it's so ... you can use it anywhere. "Yeah! That's great!" "Great!" "Great job!"

K: How about "Nice," Jeff?
J: Well, "Nice," you have to kind of stretch it out. "Naaaaaaice!"
C: Yeah, because if you don't, you can be kind of "Oh, that's nice."
J: "That's nice." Then it doesn't sound so nice, actually.
