We took the scenic route and traveled through some remote wilderness.

Hiking in the mountains... going around in circles.

Well, they don't have maps for when you are hiking in the mountains, and so sometimes it's kind of easy to lose your direction.

And I've walked around in circles, which can be dangerous, but I made it okay.

Well, you know, I've done the same thing but in the city and I'd had a map and I walked around in a circle lost.
Oh, yeah.

Well, I don't drive in Japan so I'm a little scared but in Hawaii I drive sometimes.

Have you ever gotten lost or drove around in circles?
No, no, I don't go around in circles, I don't even go around in a circle because people discourage me from driving.

Dangerous driver.

What is the Black Bear Cave Trail like?
It's a strenuous hike.
I'm up for an adventure.
It's pretty rough terrain. Bears are a potential hazard to hikers.
Good to know.
Do you know how to read a topographic map and use a compass?
No.
Well, if you want my advice, stick to the easy trails.

Do you have food with you?
No.
Here, take my dog food.
Thanks, but it's OK. I'll catch a couple of mice.

At Glacier National Park, but a lot of times on the hiking trail, the ranger is there ahead of us, showing us where the bear is because we can see it but telling us to go back.

A bear wanted our lunch.

And we gave it to him.

Were you hiking?
No. We were just at a picnic table and he came through the woods and he wanted our lunch and we said... "It's all yours."

No, he just jumped right on the middle of the table and started eating and we left.
Pretty well-mannered bear.
He knew what he wanted.

Bears are a potential hazard to picnickers.
Picnickers ... yes.
