Dialog 1

==========
Write It!
==========
J: Well, you want to add the word "just."
J: And the first way you can say it is using the "get version," which we've been studying, would be "just got 何々done." And in this case, it would be "just got her Christmas shopping done."
J: And the other way is to use the verb "do." So, in the "do version," you don't need to use the word "get done," or "get 何々done." So, it's "just did her Christmas shopping."

Y: All right. You can explain this like in two ways using "for" or leaving the for out.
K: Uh-huh.
Y: It goes this way, "What she got for him," or "What she got him," without "for." These are both in the dialog.

J: Yes. This can be a direct translation from the Japanese. が = but もちろん = of course
In this case, it would be "but, of course, she is not telling."

*******

J: I'm sure they did.
Y: I'm sure they did. Yes!
K: Great.
J: Great. Way to go!
Y: All right.
J: Good job.

Before We Move On!

D: Ugh, I got my Christmas shopping done.
F: Great. What did you get?
D: I got this house by the sea for Mom.
F: It's going to be her sixth little house. Ugh, she'll love it.
D: And I got Grandma this little jet that says, "From my wonderful granddaughter."
F: She is going to get a kick out of that. What did you get me?
D: Socks for your golf.
F: Oh?
D: With a whole in one.
F: Nice. I got something for you. So, you can be a nice speaker of English.
D: Hmm... what is it?
D: Nice. It's getting late. Let's get going. Shall we?
F: Ugh, we shall.

K: With whole in one. It's associated with golf term, right?
J: Yes, whole in one.
K: Oh, wow. Such a self-centered, narcissistic.
