R: You know, there may be a Sphynx in Egypt, but I have a Sphynx at home too. Hey, everyone, Akino Roza here.
C: Hi, guys, Chris McVay here. Oh, so you have a Sphynx cat at home?
R: That's right.
C: Hmm...

(The Sphynx cat, or simply Sphynx, is a breed of cat known for its lack of fur. ネコの品種のひとつ。無毛のネコとして知られるが、まったくの無毛ではなく、極めて短い産毛に覆われている。)

(4:31)
C: Hey, listeners, what's your favorite English textbook? It's not hard to choose. It's ours, of course.

◆ Feel English Like a Native Speaker! ◆
(7:57)
C: OK, guys, let's practice the key sentence together. "I've traveled all over the world." So, today, we're focusing on a present perfect, and as usual, we need to grasp the basic image, which is the past zooming up to the present. Now, it's touched the present. That's the feeling. And that's why it's ideal to talk about experiences as they happened in the past but they are still part of you now in the present. So, with all that in mind, let's practice this key sentence.

"I've traveled all over the world." Your turn?

(graspしっかり捕らえること to quickly take something in your hand(s) and hold it firmly)

(8:36)
C: That's right. Get the feeling from the past ... yeah ... present. "I've traveled all over the world." Once more.
(8:47)
C: Excellent. Well done, guys.

(14:05)
O: Hey, Chris, you've traveled all over the world, right? Any favorite countries?
C: Well, I'm asked that question quite a lot, and it's really difficult to choose or it's really hard to choose. But today, I'll say India. Because it's so varied.

(varied 変化に富んだ having or showing many different types, or changing often)

R: Well, you know, I don't have to travel all over the world because I've already found my favorite place.
O: Hmm... it's so nice.

{こういう会話が欲しいですねえ~。}

O: prep これは prepare を短くしたものです。他に短くするような単語はありましたか?
R: Yeah, for example, refrigerator, you say "frig."
C: Or a sales representative you just say "sales rep."

(sales representative 営業担当者)

(4:17)
O: dear という親愛の情を込めて相手を呼ぶ言い方。今回は honey も出てきました。
O: But this word sounds a bit oldish, right?
R: Maybe a little bit, but people still use it.
C: Hmm, that's right.
R: Also people say, "honey" or "darling," but "darling" is a bit old too. Don't you think so, Chris?
C: Yeah, I think it's a little bit old. And where I come from in the Northeast of England, we say "pet."
R: Oh!
C: Are you all right, pet?
O: Pet?

(4:58)
C: Well, we have to prep a lot in order to make our textbook as delicious as possible. Enjoy it.
RO: Thanks, honey.

(8:55)
R: Okay, guys, ready to practice the key sentence with me? OK, here, I want you to keep this lively image of the sentence in your head. OK? So, "She's been reading, she's been reading, reading, reading." Can you see that image float up in your mind? Perfect! So, let's practice. "She's been reading comic books all afternoon."

(float up浮き上がる)

(9:23)
R: OK. I think you can do better. One more time. "She's been reading comic books all afternoon."
(9:34)
R: Great job!
