C: Great!
J: Yeah.
CJ: Perfect!

J: All right, Carolyn...
C: Yes.
J: You are the star.
C: Alrighty.

C: Ken told me he's going to Tanoshimimura next week.
J: Oh, on business?
C: He said he's doing the sights.
J: Sounds nice.
C: You know, maybe we should join him.
J: That sounds even better.

==========
Say It!
==========
K: Carolyn, are you ready?
C: I know that it's my turn to do it.
K: Oh, let's hear it, Carolyn.

C: Sure.

C: I know that was pretty low. ×5

K: All right. That was a pretty low voice but you did it.

KCJ: You are going higher and higher.

★ 好意から
K: この表現、ダイアログにありましたっけ?
C: Oh, no. It wasn't in the dialog.
K: Okay.
C: But there's a nice little phrase we can use. I would recommend writing "as a favor."
C: Yap. It's pretty handy, and it's a good idea to remember this phrase.
K: Great.

★ ルークのところに戻ってきて
J: Well, we could say "returns to where Luke is" or "returns to his place." But in English, we don't necessarily have to say, the place.
K: OK.
J: We can make it very simple by saying "comes back to Luke."

★ クレアの言ったこと
C: Here, Maddie is reporting Claire's words to Luke. But she is not saying word for word.
K: Okay.
C: ... what Claire says.
C: Yeah, she's just giving a general overview of what Claire said.
K: Okay.
C: So, I'd recommend using the phrase "What Claire said."
K: OK.
―――――

Claire is still there in the café. As a favor, Maddie waits on Claire, and then she comes back to Luke to tell him what Claire said.

J: You can do it.
C: Yeah, absolutely.

J: I think they did.
C: Uh-huh.
J: All right. Good job.

===================
In Another Situation!
===================
K: So, Carolyn...
C: Yeah.
K: What another situation going to be like?
C: Well, Luke just talked to Clay and reports back to Maddie.
―――――

M: Is Clay still there?
L: Yes. He told me you broke up with him in a text message.
M: I know that was pretty low.
L: He's actually very likeable and pretty smart.
M: He's also very persistent.
L: True! He told me he's not budging until you meet him.
M: Tell him that I'll meet him behind the café.
L: When?
M: Tomorrow, in the last dialog.
L: Well, I hope it's a happy ending.
M: You'll have to keep listening.
L: That sounds familiar.
―――――

K: So, you are going to talk to him tomorrow?
C: Yes.
K: I can hardly wait.
C: I know. We'll tell you what's gonna (going to) happen.
K: Well, I hope he can wait too.
J: Well, we're not budging.
C: Not budging.
K: All right, but we've gotta (got to) go.
CJ: Oh!

ダイアログ最後の部分、背景に客の声として
That's kind of like him. という会話が入っていましたね。

J: So, happy ending.
K: Yeah, that's a good ending.
J: It's all good.

CJ: Oh, yes!
J: All right, Carolyn...
C: Yes.
J: You are the star.
C: Super!

C: Mr. Creature was here again.
J: Oh, no.
C: I said you were out on the road.
J: Oh, thanks.
C: But he told me he'd be back next week.

(he'd = he would)

==========
Say It!
==========
K: Carolyn...
C: Yeah?
J: Are we good?
C: Yeah, we're good.
K: So, you're good to go?
C: Oh, you too.
K: Oh, year. Let's hear it.

C: We're good. ×5

J: Wow!
C: Nice!
CJ: You're good.

★ 今は心配いりません
J: Actually, in the dialog, Luke was saying this. He was talking in the first person. He was saying, "We're good."

(in the first person = 1 人称)

K: Oh, okay.
J: But here, we are going to talk about Luke and Claire.
K: Uh-huh.
J: So, we are going to use "they" instead of "we." So, "They're good."
K: Right.
J: We could also use the word "fine." So, "They're fine."
K: I see.

★ 今は
J: Uh-huh. The word is "now."
K: OK.
J: And you put that in front of the phrase that we just used, "Now, they're good." "Now, they're fine."

★ 今度は
C: Well, here, I'd recommend using the phrase "this time."
K: Okay.
J: And I know we were writing it, but if you are actually saying it aloud, we'd probably put a little bit of stress on "this." So, it'd be "THIS time."
K: Okay.

C: Luke and Claire patch things up and now they are good. Maddie waits on the mayor again and this time she gets a big tip from him.

C: Luke and Claire patch things up and now they are fine. Maddie waits on the mayor again and this time she gets a big tip from him.

J: Oh, I'm sure they did.
C: All right.
J: Well done.
C: Good job, everyone.

===================
In Another Situation!
===================
K: So, Jeff....
J: Uh-huh.
L: What's another situation going to be? This is going to be the last one.
J: Well, this time, Maddie talks to Clay and comes back.
―――――

L: Danny was looking for you.
M: Oh....
L: I said you were on break. Did you two patch things up?
M: Yeah. We're good. Has it been busy?
L: Very. Guess what.
M: What?
L: I got a big tip from Mayor Morris!
M: How did you do that?
L: I said you said to say hello.
M: Oh, you owe me half the tip.
L: Oh, damn. I shouldn't have said that.

(damn = ちくしょう、しまった)

M: Keep on smiling, Luke.

K: What a perfect ending.
C: Yeah.
J: It's all good.
K: All right.

J: That's great.
C: That's wonderful!
K: What can you say?
C: I have great memories of this song because my parents really liked Barry Manilow, so....
K: Oh, really?
C: They always played it in the house.
J: The great thig about Barry Manilow's song is even though they are hurt break songs...
C: Yeah.
J: They make you feel better after you heard them.
K: Yeah, that's very Manilow.
