J: So as Carolyn said, "His niece Sachi is going to 何々 now." Or "Sachi, his niece is going to 何々 now."

J: Yes. The pattern is "A asks B to 何々." So in this case, A is a woman, B is her brother. So it would be, "A woman asks her brother to 何々."

K: younger brother でどうでしょう？
C: Well, it's not wrong. He is her younger brother, but in English, it's pretty common to drop the words "younger" or "older" before sister or brother unless it's really important or necessary detail. So, we can just say "brother" here.
★ 裏庭に
K: in the back garden でよろしいですか？
J: Well, um... "back garden" is not really used. Some people might say "in the garden." But "garden" means several things, flower beds, vegetable gardens. So we're gonna (going to) say "in the back yard." That's the best choice.

K: 味見をするは、sample でよろしいですね？
C: Yeah. That's the verb we would use here.
C: Well, in English, we’ll use the word "first."
K: Okay.
C: But in this case, it's not going to come first.
K: Okay?
C: We aren't going to follow the Japanese word order here. So, I'd recommend starting with "samples."
K: Okay.
C: So, it'd be "samples 何々 first."
J: A woman asks her brother to set up the tables and chairs and other things in the backyard, but the brother samples the fish and chips first.
C: All right.
